Today the weather will be once again warm, rather than the pleasant coolness we have had for a few days. Fortunately, the naniIRO dresses are ready to serve as happy sunshine weather clothing. Now that all the modifications have been worked out so that they fit well, it would be great to make a few more of these; they layer nicely over autumnal clothing, and the floaty rayon is the closest thing to not having to wear clothing when the weather is hot. There is a black multi-textured one in the works, and there might be some batik rayon somewhere in the stash piles. Really looking forward to sewing again, soon...≈ : ♥ : ≈

Also I've been thinking about having/sponsoring/hosting a tiny autumn leaf(garland) swap - crafty decorations for the harvest season. Anybody want to play along? My thought was something similar to the mushroom swap, make a number of little leaves in any media, and then all get together either in person or by mail, and exchange all but one of them with other leafmakers, thereby gathering a garland of artisan-made leafy beauty for our homes. My thoughts were not anything particularly fancy or spendy, but things like knitted yarn, or painted heavy cardstock, or patchwork, or tooled foil, or embroidery or whatever... Could do this between now and October 31??

...just found your blog tonight and I just LOVE your sensibility!! Your dresses are great, and your 're-use' philosophy is terrific!!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to work up the courage to make some felted garments and need to draft simple patterns on which to base them. I am encouraged by your 'sewing month'!!
