Gave up on finding my missing grab-it, after more than a week of looking for it, and ordered another one. Also ordered (from WAWAK) new sewing pins, since the ones I have are continuing to annoy me at how awkward they are to use, and a set of dark turquoise serger thread cones, for my future turquoise and teal personal sewing projects...

I will be doing some research on various archaeolgy dig reports for potential items, and using either Nandina or Almandine as my "model". This way, after October, the grave goods can be returned to my miniature SCA encampment, and in the meantime, a large shoebox will be turned into a miniature funerary scene...

Still unpleasantly hot during the day, again it was in the mid 80's dreadfully sunny. I had to ride to the post office, and was so sweaty that my mask kept trying to slide around on my face, ugh. Postal rates are higher, and it is no longer possible to mail padded envelopes as oversize letters, they now are "parcels" and my small one was five dollars to send to Utah! I think that from now on any tiny treats I send out to online pals must be very flat indeed, flat enough to go in a regular letter envelope.
Crow body #1 is stitched and partially stuffed. I decided to experiment with making the crow legs and feet. The instructions call for either paper covered wire, or wrapping 18ga wire with masking tape before forming the legs. The pattern instructions show an ingenious way to shape the wire. Once the legs and feet are formed, they are then wrapped with floral tape, and painted... I stuck them upside down in a flower vase to let the feet dry before I painted the upper legs. I figure that a layer of black gesso and then a layer of black acrylic will work well. Now I have used up the small amount that was left of my 18ga wire, so I will need to replenish my supply; fingers crossed it isn't a supply chain item.
