with hammer and saw

In which our plucky heroine cogitates between projects...

...though am only ever between projects for as long as it takes to pick up the tools and supplies for the next one! The yoke embroidery for a new tunic for Mr Blue Cedar House is completed. Still need to make some complementary sleeve or cuff bands, but my cunning plan to have their whole family well-clothed by An Tir West War is moving along nicely

Have been wondering if pages of embroidery designs and variations might be a possible item to have available for purchase; don't know if there is any interest is suchlike, and probably the only way to find out is to try it and see...

  1. Speedy work on that yoke! Leaflets or booklets of your designs might sell well. Some of your designs are quite specialized; I'm thinking of those for the SCA, so you might create a booklet just for that group. Others of your designs are ones anyone would enjoy. Good luck!

  2. You are certainly right about some designs being specialised, I can't imagine much of the general public wanting to embroidery little green Viking men! I am always hoping to find some things I can make that are more of an "impulse purchase", since my metalwork and enameling is anything but that... I primarily sell my jewelery as custom regalia orders within the SCA. I may make up a page or two before the next big SCA event later this summer.

  3. Yes please! Though many may not be interested in some specialised embroidery motifs you have many others, too. I already wanted to ask you for the motif of two little mice you have embroidered on your friend's blouse. Good luck.
